She is also an established essayist and Contributing Editor for CCM Magazine, offering a monthly column titled “Loose Ends…Confessions Of An Unfinished Faith.”  Nordeman will return to the studio this fall to begin work on her next studio recording.

Recollection:  The Best of Nichole Nordeman adds to that long list of credentials, featuring two new songs, ‘Sunrise’ and ‘Finally Free,’ in addition to songs hand-picked by Nichole Nordeman from prior releases.  “If you’ve never been in a place of real hopelessness, then hope just looks a lot different on the other side of that,” Nordeman describes ‘Sunrise.’  “I wanted to try to capture that in a song that just pointed to hope.  I think there’s so much hopelessness in all of our lives and in the country and in the world that it can be so overwhelming.  But, ‘Sunrise came out of a period of pretty serious hopelessness for me, personally, and I needed to acknowledge that the sunrise was on the horizon, even though I wasn’t totally convinced.”

Finally Free,” was written as a personal anthem for Women of Faith and will be used as the 2007 theme song, accompanied by a music video Nordeman made for the powerful song.  Both will be used at the women’s conferences, which draw upwards of 20,000 each weekend. “Writing this song was very emotional for me, because I was just sitting at my piano closing my eyes and picturing these heavy, heavy stories of the things in women’s lives that imprison them—whether it’s addiction or a choice that was made or depression.  You know, there are constant, countless stories.  So, to be able to write a song about finally being free of those things was just a real privilege. And it has become an anthem for me personally, as well.”

Reviewers and fans are welcoming Recollection:  The Best of Nichole Nordeman with open arms.

If the Christian music industry appointed a poet laureate, top prize would undoubtedly go to Nichole Nordeman.”  The song is yet just another entry into a career that has touched or even changed thousands of lives. Nordeman's is truly an eloquent gift and Recollection is a much needed celebration of that platform.”

Even from her 1998 debut, Wide Eyed, Nordeman's introspective songwriting paired with her classy piano playing and beautiful voice set her in a league of her own. This "best of" project is an excellent collection of Nordeman's work and quite possibly one of the greatest projects of this type ever released in Christian music,  JesusFreakHideout.com

She challenges listeners to address the faith that so often gets pushed aside.”  “…she’s matured. Early singles such as the jazzy “Is it Any Wonder” and the hypnotizing “River God” serve up deep lyrics that have become her signature,”
